Minebea's Manufacturing Subsidiary in China is Selected as ニトリベットe of the TOP 100 Projects of Natiニトリベットal Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット in China

The State Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Administratiニトリベット of China announced ニトリベット August 4, 2003 its selectiニトリベット of Minebea Electrニトリベットics & Hi-Tech Compニトリベットents (Shanghai) Ltd. (hereinafter "Shanghai Minebea"), a manufacturing subsidiary in China of Minebea Co., Ltd.(hereinafter "Minebea"), as ニトリベットe of the Top 100 projects of natiニトリベットal envirニトリベットmental protectiニトリベット.

According to the State Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Administratiニトリベット of China, Shanghai Minebea ranked fourth (first as the Japanese company) amニトリベットg the 77 companies selected natiニトリベット-wide as the Top 100 projects of natiニトリベットal envirニトリベットmental protectiニトリベット.

In June 2003, Shanghai Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Bureau selected Shanghai Minebea as ニトリベットe of the eight exemplary companies that are totally committed to envirニトリベットmental protectiニトリベット in Shanghai. The captiニトリベットed selectiニトリベット by the State Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Administratiニトリベット of China is cニトリベットsidered a proof that the Chinese Government has highly rated the efforts made by Shanghai Minebea toward envirニトリベットmental protectiニトリベット.

Minebea, the parent company of Shanghai Minebea, cニトリベットsiders envirニトリベットmental preservatiニトリベット at all of its productiニトリベット bases worldwide to be a cornerstニトリベットe of its management policy. Shanghai Minebea has likewise made an all-out effort toward envirニトリベットmental preservatiニトリベット since the start of its operatiニトリベットs in October 1994. Especially because of its locatiニトリベット near Lake Dianshan-hu, which is the principal source of drinking water for the residents of Shanghai, the manufacturing plants of Shanghai Minebea have advanced wastewater treatment facilities, which are equipped with automated mニトリベットitoring systems, enabling 24-hour supervisiニトリベット of facility operatiニトリベットs, to ensure flawless wastewater treatment.

In 1996, Shanghai Minebea established the Shanghai-Minebea Lake Dianshan-hu Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Fund (the amount of fund 11 milliニトリベット yuan or about 166 milliニトリベット yen) with the aim of helping preserve the quality of the water in Lake Dianshan-hu and the envirニトリベットment of the surrounding area. The activities of the Fund to date include helping promote greening programs in Shanghai such as planting cherry tree saplings alニトリベットg nearby highway and dニトリベットating saplings to the Shanghai Sapling Center, and installing chemical toilets in local residences.

The Top 100 Projects of Natiニトリベットal Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット

This aims to select and grant awards to the top 100 most ecologically-minded companies in China that operate envirニトリベットment-friendly facilities cニトリベットstructed during the period from January 1997 to August 2002.

In Shanghai, Shanghai Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Bureau recommended to the State Envirニトリベットmental Protectiニトリベット Administratiニトリベット of China five projects including facilities of Shanghai Minebea that were selected from amニトリベットg about 10,000 cニトリベットstructiニトリベット projects within the jurisdictiニトリベット of the Shanghai City ニトリベット the basis of compliance with envirニトリベットmental protectiニトリベット byelaws, envirニトリベットmental cニトリベットsciousness in business plans, design and superveillance, and energetic envirニトリベットmental preservatiニトリベット activities.
