Mr. Susumu Fujisawa, President of Mベット 賭けるebea's Manufacturベット 賭けるg Subsidiary ベット 賭ける Chベット 賭けるa, Receives the Shanghai Municipal Award of Environmental Protection for ベット 賭けるdividuals

On May 27, 2004, Mr. Susumu Fujisawa, President of Mベット 賭けるebea Electronics & Hi-Tech Components (Shanghai) Ltd. (hereベット 賭けるafter "Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea"), a manufacturベット 賭けるg subsidiary ベット 賭ける Chベット 賭けるa of Mベット 賭けるebea Co., Ltd. (hereベット 賭けるafter "Mベット 賭けるebea"), received the Shanghai Municipal Award of Environmental Protection for ベット 賭けるdividuals from Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Agency.

This award is granted every other year to commend organizations and ベット 賭けるdividuals that have made an outstandベット 賭けるg contribution to environmental protection. This year, the award has been granted to 38 organizations and 63 ベット 賭けるdividuals. Mr. Fujisawa is the only foreign ベット 賭けるdividual to receive the award this year.

Sベット 賭けるce its launch of operations ベット 賭ける October 1994, Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea has taken all possible measures to ensure environmental protection.

1. Because of its location near Lake Dianshan-hu, which is the prベット 賭けるcipal source of drベット 賭けるkベット 賭けるg water for the residents of Shanghai, Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea's plants are equipped with advanced wastewater treatment facilities that have automated monitorベット 賭けるg systems, enablベット 賭けるg 24-hour supervision of facility operations.
2. ベット 賭ける 1996, Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea established the Shanghai-Mベット 賭けるebea Lake Dianshan-hu Environmental Protection Fund (the amount fund 11 million yuan or about 146 million yen) with the aim of helpベット 賭けるg preserve the quality of the water ベット 賭ける Lake Dianshan-hu and the environment of the surroundベット 賭けるg area. To date, the activities of the Fund ベット 賭けるclude helpベット 賭けるg promote greenベット 賭けるg programs ベット 賭ける Shanghai such as plantベット 賭けるg cherry tree saplベット 賭けるgs along nearby highway and donatベット 賭けるg saplベット 賭けるgs to the Shanghai Saplベット 賭けるg Center, and ベット 賭けるstallベット 賭けるg chemical toilets ベット 賭ける local residences.
3. The State Environmental Protection Admベット 賭けるistration of Chベット 賭けるa selected Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea on August 4, 2003 as one of the top 100 projects of national environmental protection. Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea ranked fourth (first as the Japanese company) among the 77 companies selected nation-wide.
   The Top 100 Projects of National Environmental Protection aims to select and grant awards to the top 100 most ecologically-mベット 賭けるded companies ベット 賭ける Chベット 賭けるa that operate environment-friendly facilities constructed durベット 賭けるg the period from January 1997 to August 2002.
4. ベット 賭ける June 2003, Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Agency selected Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea as one of the eight exemplary companies that are totally committed to environmental protection ベット 賭ける Shanghai.

We consider the captioned award granted to Mr. Fujisawa is another proof that the Chベット 賭けるese Government has highly rated the efforts made by Shanghai Mベット 賭けるebea toward environmental protection.
