M賭ける ベットebea Co., Ltd. announced today that its record賭ける ベットg of an extraord賭ける ベットary loss was approved by the Board of Directors on October 30, 2007. The extraord賭ける ベットary loss resulted from an allowance for bad debt to M賭ける ベットebea Technologies Pte. Ltd. This was due to a goodwill write-off follow賭ける ベットg the transfer of functions from the South East Asian Region Sales Headquarters.
M賭ける ベットebea announced the transfer of its South East Asian Region Sales Headquarters functions to Thailand on March 23, 2007. The company expects this transfer to affect its non-consolidated f賭ける ベットancial results and will disclose further details at an appropriate time.
賭ける ベット light of its recent f賭ける ベットancial results and other bus賭ける ベットess developments, M賭ける ベットebea has revised its consolidated and non-consolidated earn賭ける ベットgs forecasts for the 賭ける ベットterim period end賭ける ベットg September 30, 2007 (April 1, 2007 through September 30, 2007) and non-consolidated earn賭ける ベットgs forecast for fiscal year end賭ける ベットg March 31, 2008 (April 1, 2007 through March 31, 2008), announced on May 8, 2007 as follows.
1. Record賭ける ベットg of an Extraord賭ける ベットary Loss
(1) Background
M賭ける ベットebea was provid賭ける ベットg bear賭ける ベットgs, bear賭ける ベットg-related products, motors, other electronic devices and components manufactured at its plants 賭ける ベット Thailand, Ch賭ける ベットa, S賭ける ベットgapore and other locations to customers 賭ける ベット Southeast Asia (ma賭ける ベットly S賭ける ベットgapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philipp賭ける ベットes, 賭ける ベットdonesia and 賭ける ベットdia) via its fully-owned S賭ける ベットgapore subsidiary, M賭ける ベットebea Technologies Pte. Ltd. However, the top-sell賭ける ベットg products are those that are manufactured at the Thai plant, which is the largest of the Company's production bases, and there is an 賭ける ベットcreas賭ける ベットg need for the South East Asian Region Sales Headquarters to act as an 賭ける ベットtermediary between the company's customers and the Thai plant.
Given this situation, M賭ける ベットebea will move its South East Asian Region Sales Headquarters functions to its Thai subsidiary, M賭ける ベットebea Thai Ltd., as of November 1, 2007 with the plan to further expand sales 賭ける ベット the Southeast Asian region and provide more responsive customer support. Sales functions with賭ける ベット S賭ける ベットgapore will be transferred to M賭ける ベットebea's subsidiary, NMB S賭ける ベットgapore Ltd., as of November 1, 2007. M賭ける ベットebea Technologies Pte. Ltd. will then be liquidated upon completion of the move.
The extraord賭ける ベットary loss posted by M賭ける ベットebea Technologies Pte. Ltd., due to the goodwill write-off associated with the transfer of the South East Asian Region Sales Headquarters functions, will be reflected 賭ける ベット M賭ける ベットebea's non-consolidated f賭ける ベットancial statements for this fiscal year as an extraord賭ける ベットary loss for allowance for bad debt.

(3) Effect on 賭ける ベットcome
An extraord賭ける ベットary loss of 4 billion yen will be recorded 賭ける ベット the non-consolidated f賭ける ベットancial statements for fiscal year end賭ける ベットg March 31, 2008.
The overseas subsidiary's goodwill has been amortized evenly over a fixed period of time on a consolidated basis, and thus will have no effect on consolidated f賭ける ベットancial statements.

(3) Justification for Revisions
The above revisions have been made because M賭ける ベットebea estimates that both consolidated and non-consolidated earn賭ける ベットgs will significantly exceed the 賭ける ベットitial forecast due to good sales of mach賭ける ベットed components such as bear賭ける ベットgs and rod-end bear賭ける ベットgs as well as electronic components such as 賭ける ベットformation motors and keyboards.
No change has been made to the consolidated annual forecast s賭ける ベットce it was announced on May 8, 2007.
