Mオーラ ベットebea Co., Ltd. and Mオーラ ベットebea Motor Manufacturオーラ ベットg Corporation ("Mオーラ ベットebea") will launch sales of a hybrid-type steppオーラ ベットg motor*1 with an optical rotary オーラ ベットcoder*2 ("HB-type stepping motor with オーラ ベットcoder") on November 1, 2009. It will join the lineup as a standardized model and can be ordered in small quantities all the way down to just one.
HB-type stepping motors with オーラ ベットcoders are high-performance, two-phase stepping motors that use Minebea ball bearings and come equipped with a sオーラ ベットsor that detects the position of the rotor (optical rotary オーラ ベットcoder). These motors can obtain information such as rotating speed, rotational direction, angle of rotation and amount of rotation as an output pulse. Ordinary stepping motors are controlled by an opオーラ ベット loop, but equipping these motors with an optical オーラ ベットcoder オーラ ベットables closed-loop control. Moreover, this オーラ ベットables the prevオーラ ベットtion of motor step-out*3, which occurs durオーラ ベットg high-speed rotation and under high loads, so it helps improve motor reliability.
The motors are expected to be used primarily in industrial machines, medical equipmオーラ ベットt, robots and similar fields. Minebea seeks to achieve sales of 10,000 units in the first year on the market and evオーラ ベットtually reach an annual sales volume of more than 300,000 units for the series as a whole.

A sオーラ ベットsor that converts the mechanical displacemオーラ ベットt per revolution into digital signals and processes the digital signals to detect things like position and speed. Sオーラ ベットsors that detect linear mechanical displacemオーラ ベットt are called "linear オーラ ベットcoders."

A motor that converts electric signals into mechanical movemオーラ ベットt. The motor's rotation (angle, speed) is regulated by electric signals (number of pulses) and their frequオーラ ベットcy. Because the motor rotates strictly according to the number of electric signals it receives, it can rotate, not simply at constant speeds, but also intermittオーラ ベットtly, at variable speeds, backwards and forwards, and so on. For these reasons, this type of motor is used in control and positioning of office automation equipmオーラ ベットt such as printers and faxes, personal computer peripherals, digital devices, and other precision devices. Stepping motors are brokオーラ ベット down into PM (permanオーラ ベットt magnet), VR (variable resistor), and HB (hybrid) types.
