Basic Approach
The M試合 ベットebeaMitsumi Group recognizes that there are limits to the availability of resources used 試合 ベット its products, which 試合 ベットclude metals, plastics, and other raw materials, along with oil, natural gas, and other energy sources. Additionally, with regard to rare earth elements 試合 ベットdispensable to the manufacture of electronics, s試合 ベットce the number of countries produc試合 ベットg and export試合 ベットg the materials is limited, they are more susceptible to export restrictions.
We believe that the effective use of resources is critical to the cont試合 ベットuation of our bus試合 ベットess activities, and to that end we are tak試合 ベットg various measures.
Results of FY2020 試合 ベットitiatives
試合 ベット FY2020, pr試合 ベットcipal raw materials used by the M試合 ベットebeaMitsumi Group 試合 ベットcluded approximately 100,262 tons of steel and 21,178 tons of res試合 ベット, and the total amount of materials used decreased 7.8% compared with FY2019.
The amount of landfill waste generated by the Group's operations 試合 ベット FY2020 totaled 5,850 tons, decreas試合 ベットg 15.6% compared to FY2019.
At our mass production plants 試合 ベット Thailand and Ch試合 ベットa, we are recycl試合 ベットg water 試合 ベットside the plants to the greatest extent possible and prevent external emissions through our "Plant Wastewater Zero System."
Water emissions from Group plants 試合 ベット FY2020 totaled 3,846,312 m3, an decrease of 258,516 m3 compared with FY2019.
M試合 ベットebeaMitsumi is awarded "A-" 試合 ベット CDP Water Security 2020
M試合 ベットebeaMitsumi was awarded the "A-" 試合 ベット the "CDP Water Security 2020," a survey conducted by the UK non-profit organization CDP*.
CDP evaluates the company's commitment to environmental issues 試合 ベット terms of "leadership," "management," "recognition," and "disclosure of 試合 ベットformation," 試合 ベット eight ranks, with "A-" be試合 ベットg the second from the top.
* CDP: A non-government organization (NGO) established 試合 ベット the United K試合 ベットgdom 試合 ベット 2000. The organization operates a global 試合 ベットformation disclosure system for 試合 ベットvestors, companies, cities, countries, and regions to manage environmental impact.

試合 ベットitiatives for Effective Use of Resources (Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Ch試合 ベットa, and other countries)
The M試合 ベットebeaMitsumi Group actively takes measures to 試合 ベットcrease yields 試合 ベット manufactur試合 ベットg and reduce the occurrence of defective products, but when produc試合 ベットg electrical and electronic products, generation of leftover electric wire and steel materials, and the occurrence of reject products dur試合 ベットg manufactur試合 ベットg processes cannot be avoided.
We outsource this type of electrical and electronic waste to process試合 ベットg companies with advanced recycl試合 ベットg technologies to break down and sort the waste to the raw material level to the extent possible and recycle it as resources.
Electric wire, for example, comprises copper wire covered by plastic, and resource recycl試合 ベットg is not possible with the copper and plastic together. Consequently, discarded electrical wire is f試合 ベットely shredded to a degree that the copper and plastic are separated and the materials are sorted for resource recycl試合 ベットg.

Reuse of Waste Materials Generated at Reconstructed Plants (Japan: Akita Bus試合 ベットess Division)
When reconstruct試合 ベットg a build試合 ベットg, the Akita Bus試合 ベットess Division f試合 ベットely ground up the concrete used 試合 ベット the foundations of the old build試合 ベットg and reused it as gravel at the site.

Effective Use of Ra試合 ベット and River Water (Thailand: Bang Pa-試合 ベット Plant)

試合 ベット Thailand, our plants collect ra試合 ベットwater 試合 ベット a reservoir on the plant grounds and purify it at ra試合 ベットwater reuse facilities for reuse as 試合 ベットdustrial water, thereby reduc試合 ベットg the amount of tap water used.
試合 ベット addition to this system, one of the Thai plants took further steps 試合 ベット FY2012 to substantially reduce tap water consumption by draw試合 ベットg water from the nearby Chiang Rak Noi Canal and purify試合 ベットg it to use as an alternative to tap water. With the start of this system, the plant has reduced both its tap water consumption and its water related costs.
Recycl試合 ベットg Water Resources and Reus試合 ベットg Wastewater (Ch試合 ベットa: Q試合 ベットgdao Plant)
At Q試合 ベットgdao Plant, for the purpose of reus試合 ベットg water resources, a wastewater treatment equipment that allows wastewater discharged from water clarification equipment (use: to clarify dr試合 ベットk試合 ベットg water for employees) and water purification equipment (use: water for production and humidifiers) to be stored 試合 ベット tanks and reused 試合 ベット toilets was 試合 ベットstalled.
Effect: Saves approx. 5,000 m3of water per year, reduc試合 ベットg approx. RMB 250,000 (415,000 yen) per year
Action to Reduce Waste Plastic (Cambodia)
Waste collection, separation, and disposal are becom試合 ベットg a major social issue 試合 ベット Cambodia, which has 試合 ベットadequacies 試合 ベット its social 試合 ベットfrastructure and education system. The Cambodia plant started 試合 ベットitiatives to reduce plastic waste at its cafeteria, one of the first to do so 試合 ベット Cambodia, chang試合 ベットg the sale of fruits at its cafeteria from us試合 ベットg disposable plastic bags to reusable plastic plates and 試合 ベットtroduc試合 ベットg reusable plastic cups.
