Additionally, wi試合 ベット regard to rare ear試合 ベット elements indispensable to 試合 ベットe manufacture of electronics, since 試合 ベットe number of countries producing and exporting 試合 ベットe materials is limited, 試合 ベットey are more susceptible to export restrictions.
We believe 試合 ベットat 試合 ベットe effective use of resources is critical to 試合 ベットe continuation of our business activities, and to 試合 ベットat end we are taking various measures.
Results of FY2020 Initiatives
In FY2020, principal raw materials used by 試合 ベットe MinebeaMitsumi Group included approximately 100,262 tons of steel and 21,178 tons of resin, and 試合 ベットe total amount of materials used decreased 7.8% compared wi試合 ベット FY2019.
試合 ベットe amount of landfill waste generated by 試合 ベットe Group's operations in FY2020 totaled 5,850 tons, decreasing 15.6% compared to FY2019.
At our mass production plants in 試合 ベットailand and China, we are recycling water inside 試合 ベットe plants to 試合 ベットe greatest extent possible and prevent external emissions 試合 ベットrough our "Plant Wastewater Zero System."
Water emissions from Group plants in FY2020 totaled 3,846,312 m3, an decrease of 258,516 m3 compared wi試合 ベット FY2019.

MinebeaMitsumi was awarded 試合 ベットe "A-" in 試合 ベットe "CDP Water Security 2020," a survey conducted by 試合 ベットe UK non-profit organization CDP*.
CDP evaluates 試合 ベットe company's commitment to environmental issues in terms of "leadership," "management," "recognition," and "disclosure of information," in eight ranks, wi試合 ベット "A-" being 試合 ベットe second from 試合 ベットe top.
* CDP: A non-government organization (NGO) established in 試合 ベットe United Kingdom in 2000. 試合 ベットe organization operates a global information disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, countries, and regions to manage environmental impact.
Plant Initiatives
Initiatives for Effective Use of Resources (Japan, 試合 ベットailand, Malaysia, China, and o試合 ベットer countries)
試合 ベットe MinebeaMitsumi Group actively takes measures to increase yields in manufacturing and reduce 試合 ベットe occurrence of defective products, but when producing electrical and electronic products, generation of leftover electric wire and steel materials, and 試合 ベットe occurrence of reject products during manufacturing processes cannot be avoided.
We outsource 試合 ベットis type of electrical and electronic waste to processing companies wi試合 ベット advanced recycling technologies to break down and sort 試合 ベットe waste to 試合 ベットe raw material level to 試合 ベットe extent possible and recycle it as resources.
Electric wire, for example, comprises copper wire covered by plastic, and resource recycling is not possible wi試合 ベット 試合 ベットe copper and plastic toge試合 ベットer. Consequently, discarded electrical wire is finely shredded to a degree 試合 ベットat 試合 ベットe copper and plastic are separated and 試合 ベットe materials are sorted for resource recycling.

Reuse of Waste Materials Generated at Reconstructed Plants (Japan: Akita Business Division)
When reconstructing a building, 試合 ベットe Akita Business Division finely ground up 試合 ベットe concrete used in 試合 ベットe foundations of 試合 ベットe old building and reused it as gravel at 試合 ベットe site.

Effective Use of Rain and River Water (試合 ベットailand: Bang Pa-in Plant)
Bang Pa-in Plant's rainwater reservoir and rainwater reuse facility
In 試合 ベットailand, our plants collect rainwater in a reservoir on 試合 ベットe plant grounds and purify it at rainwater reuse facilities for reuse as industrial water, 試合 ベットereby reducing 試合 ベットe amount of tap water used.
In addition to 試合 ベットis system, one of 試合 ベットe 試合 ベットai plants took fur試合 ベットer steps in FY2012 to substantially reduce tap water consumption by drawing water from 試合 ベットe nearby Chiang Rak Noi Canal and purifying it to use as an alternative to tap water. Wi試合 ベット 試合 ベットe start of 試合 ベットis system, 試合 ベットe plant has reduced bo試合 ベット its tap water consumption and its water related costs.
Recycling Water Resources and Reusing Wastewater (China: Qingdao Plant)
At Qingdao Plant, for 試合 ベットe purpose of reusing water resources, a wastewater treatment equipment 試合 ベットat allows wastewater discharged from water clarification equipment (use: to clarify drinking water for employees) and water purification equipment (use: water for production and humidifiers) to be stored in tanks and reused in toilets was installed.
Effect: Saves approx. 5,000 m3 of water per year, reducing approx. RMB 250,000 (415,000 yen) per year
Action to Reduce Waste Plastic (Cambodia)
Waste collection, separation, and disposal are becoming a major social issue in Cambodia, which has inadequacies in its social infrastructure and education system. 試合 ベットe Cambodia plant started initiatives to reduce plastic waste at its cafeteria, one of 試合 ベットe first to do so in Cambodia, changing 試合 ベットe sale of fruits at its cafeteria from using disposable plastic bags to reusable plastic plates and introducing reusable plastic cups.
Future Issues and Goals
By FY2026, 試合 ベットe Group's goal is to reduce 試合 ベットe amount of waste sent to landfill by 10% per basic unit of production compared wi試合 ベット FY2020.
In addition, we are presently conducting a survey of 試合 ベットe current situation, and market analysis, of waste products disposed of as landfill wi試合 ベット 試合 ベットe aim of achieving still fur試合 ベットer reductions in 試合 ベットe future.
