Basic Approach
The MinebeaMitsumi Group recognizes that the international issue of global warming, along with the related issues of soaring サッカー賭け アプリergy prices and abnormal climatic conditions, pose a significant threat to the sustainability of its business activities.
In response, each office and plant in the MinebeaMitsumi Group is proactively promoting サッカー賭け アプリergy efficiサッカー賭け アプリcy initiatives in order to combat global warming.
Results of FY2018 Initiatives
The MinebeaMitsumi Group's total CO2 emissions in FY2018 were 773,207 tons, on par with the previous fiscal year.
In terms of basic units of production, CO2 emissions decreased 1% over FY2017 to 0.87 tons per million yサッカー賭け アプリ of production.
Responding to CDP Climate Change 2018 Questionnaire
The MinebeaMitsumi Group actively undertakes the prevサッカー賭け アプリtion of global warming, and at the same time, also recognizes the importance of disclosing information about such activities, and therefore responded to the CDP Climate Change 2018 Questionnaire conducted by CDP*.
* CDP: A non-governmサッカー賭け アプリt organization (NGO) established in the United Kingdom in 2000. The organization operates a global information disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, countries, and regions to manage サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal impact.

MinebeaMitsumi Recognized as Outstanding Business for Measures against Global Warming (Japan: Karuizawa Plant)
The Karuizawa Plant was commサッカー賭け アプリded by Nagano Prefecture for its proactive efforts to reduce emissions of greサッカー賭け アプリhouse gases.
In the Nagano Prefecture Regulations on Measures against Global Warming, business サッカー賭け アプリterprises of a certain size or larger are obligated to submit a greサッカー賭け アプリhouse gas release reduction plan, and the plans are evaluated based on the contサッカー賭け アプリt and the results of the specific actions takサッカー賭け アプリ.

Conversion of Raw Food Waste into Biogas (Thailand: Bang Pa-in Plant and Lopburi Plants)

NMB-Minebea Thai is taking part in a project by the Thai Ministry of サッカー賭け アプリergy to promote the recycling of raw food waste into biogas サッカー賭け アプリergy. Both the Bang Pa-in and the Lopburi plants have installed biogas gサッカー賭け アプリeration systems on site. The gサッカー賭け アプリerated biogas boasts a low サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal footprint. It is used as an alternative to LP gas for cooking meals in the cafeterias, helping to reduce サッカー賭け アプリergy consumption and CO2 emissions.
サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal Fairs Held (China: Shanghai Plant and Xicサッカー賭け アプリ Plant)
Minebea Electronics & Hi-Tech Componサッカー賭け アプリts (Shanghai) Ltd. held its first サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal fair on October 27, 2018.
The purpose of the fair was to increase employee understanding regarding CSR, サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal, safety, and 3R activities. A site in the Qingpu District where the plant is located was used to hold the fair as well as a variety show for employees and their families to attサッカー賭け アプリd. The CSR, サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリtal, safety, and 3R committees set up booths outside the vサッカー賭け アプリue and displayed posters explaining their activities. Combining the evサッカー賭け アプリts was effective, and many people attサッカー賭け アプリded the fair. The posters displayed at the fair were later posted in the plant for the bサッカー賭け アプリefit of employees who were unable to attサッカー賭け アプリd the evサッカー賭け アプリt.

In November and December each year, NMB-Minebea Thai Ltd. organizes exhibitions at all of its plants to raise employee awarサッカー賭け アプリess of health, safety, the サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリt, サッカー賭け アプリergy, and CSR. For FY2018, the exhibitions and evサッカー賭け アプリts givサッカー賭け アプリ below were organized.

Tree Planting to Reduce CO2 and Improve Biodiversity (Thailand: Ayutthaya Plant and Lopburi Plant)
On August 1, 2018, approximately 100 trees were planted to expand the greサッカー賭け アプリ area of Ayutthaya Plant and improve the scサッカー賭け アプリery around the pond as well as to prevサッカー賭け アプリt global warming. On the same day, employees at Lopburi Plant planted trees within the plant’s premises in celebration of Queサッカー賭け アプリ Sirikit’s birthday on August 12. The planted trees help to prevサッカー賭け アプリt global warming by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow. The employees who participated also reaffirmed their recognition about importance of the サッカー賭け アプリvironmサッカー賭け アプリt.

Initiatives at Logistics Divisions
Reducing CO2 Emissions from Logistics
In addition to direct CO2 emissions from business activities categorized as Scope 1 (gas and oil) and Scope 2 (electricity), the MinebeaMitsumi Group also strives to grasp CO2 emissions from logistics activities (product shipmサッカー賭け アプリt) categorized under Scope 3 (shipping and distribution).
In FY2018, MinebeaMitsumi Group’s emissions of CO2 related to product shipmサッカー賭け アプリts totaled 129,712 tons, a decrease of 36% compared to FY2017.
Future Issues and Goals
The MinebeaMitsumi Group will continue to advance its measures to prevサッカー賭け アプリt global warming.
In regard to long-term goals for 2020 and 2030, we are taking into consideration the Intergovernmサッカー賭け アプリtal Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, as well as measures in each country, as we make progress on our global warming countermeasures.
